(More customer reviews)Technics cd changers do play cd-r's along with almost all cd players of any type. Do you actually own one that doesn't? If you do it must be defective. The customer support people in my experience usually know less about there equipment than I do. Maybe they were confused or maybe they thought you meant cd-rw's. Anyways, my dad's cd player is an over 2 year old Technics SL-PD887 and all of my cd-r's play fine in it. The newer versions of it shouldn't be any different, besides i've read reviews from people who have had no trouble with cd-r's.I never have problems with cd-r's even in my Sony discman.

The phone-style keypad on Technics' SL-PD6 five-disc CD changer makes for easy programming. It also has an edit-guide function and an easy-to-read disc-location display. The MASH 1-bit D-to-A converter and optical digital output promise good sound. The SL-PD8 model also comes with a wireless remote control.
